This one was selected by one of my best friends :3
The Pokémon included in this list are the Pokémon I always name the same thing, along with any Scarlet & Violet Pokémon I happen to have caught and named in my current playthrough -- as they've only been in one game.
Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu ♀ - Princess
Pokémon Leaf Green Emulated ROM
During my playthrough I found a female Pikachu in Viridian Forest and came up with the name based on the fact that Pikachu is the "Princess" of the Pokémon franchise, getting all the attention.
Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume ♀ - Lea
Pokémon Crystal 3DS Virtual Console
Named after one of my best friends who's favorite Pokémon is Oddish! I've gotten her a plushie and figure of the little guy, she adores him.

Shiny Lapras - Kagami
Pokémon Crystal 3DS Virtual Console
Kagami's name is inspired by this art I'd found during my Crystal playthrough. I choose Lapras because of how much the encounter enraptured me when discovering it in-game. It took a lot of resets to get her.
I got Via thanks to my cousin in Canada taking me to a Build-A-Bear for the first time when I visited. She's the absolute sweetest plushie in the world, and the perfect size for cuddles, so of course I always name
my Eevee after her!
Sometime in Late 2024
This is another anime one! Airi here is named after a girl in the 2016 anime Erased, which Lea showed me last year. I had just gotten a Vaporeon plushie in need of a name, and I adored Airi, so the name stuck.
Generation II
My first starter Pokémon <3
Cinder's name is inspired by Cyndaquil's own name and the common phrase in Thomas & Friends, "Cinders and Ashes."
Pokémon Violet
The name "Hazel" comes from the fact that my favorite musician/streamer/youtuber, Hazel, happens to love Mareep, a Pokémon I'd already used on and off again before starting Scarlet and Violet.
Azurill, Marill, Azumarill - Pikablu
Pokémon Violet
If you've ever been anywhere around Pokémon urban legends you probably know about this one. "Pikablu" is the name fans dubbed Marill after seeing him in the short film "Pikachu's Summer Vacation" back in 1999, becoming relatively widespread before GSC's release.
Espeon ♀ - Via
Pokémon Legends Arceus
My darling daughter <3<3<3
Espeon is my favorite Eeveelution, and so I always evolve Via into her. Via's name comes from the word Violet too, in reference to Espeon's purple hue.
Umbreon - Nightlight
Pokémon Legends Arceus
Nightlight wasn't actually named by me, but rather by another one of my close friends, Starr, during my initial playthrough of PLA. The name has stuck since, despite the fact that I'm almost certain Starr's forgotten that she named Nightlight!
Misdreavus, Mismagius ♀ - Vivian
Pokémon Violet
This spooky ghost is named after another spooky ghost who in turn is named after a spooky ghost! Vivian is a host of the Railway Series Book Club who picked her name off of Vivian from Paper Mario TTYD! It's ghostception...
Generation III
Eden's name comes from extrapolation Gardevoir's. From Gardevoir I got Garden, then I jumped to the Garden of Eden, and lastly just Eden.
Generation VI
Sylveon ♀ - Starlight
Pokémon Legends Arceus
Starlight was also named by Starr, however, as I'm writing this I think it's also taken on the meaning of representing my favorite rhythm game, NOISZ STΔRLIVHT. My favorite Idol in that game, Hakuno Nekoda, is a trans woman, and given Sylveon's colors I think it's fits well.
Generation VIII
Galarian Ponyta ♀- Twilight
Pokémon Go
...Yes, I named the unicorn after Twilight Sparkle. Look at her she's so freaking adorable.
Her and Espeon are tied for my favorite Pokémon, I think.Generation VIIII
Pawmi Line - Butterscotch
Pokémon Violet
This line is only named what it is because of the color. I've noticed a food trend with the names I've given my Pokémon this generation though... The only reason I even thought of butterscotch was because of a Sesame Street Skit where Ernie orders a lot of ice cream.
Fidough, Dachsbun - Cheddar Twist
Pokémon Violet
Despite adoring the pun in Fidough and Dachsbun's names I nicknamed them because Fidoguh's appearance, to me, is reminiscent of an unbaked Dunkin Donuts Cheddar Twist. Of course, due to the nickname character limit, the words "Cheddar" and "Twist" have had to be combined.
So far that's all the Pokémon I've caught who's nicknames have lasted through multiple games. This is in no way a list of favorites because of that, as there are some 'Mons I just haven't found a good name for yet, like the Fennekin or Popplio line. Even then, I do love every single Pokémon here, they're all so adorable.
The Gardevoir and Sylveon sprites are from Pokémon Prism, a ROM Hack in the Pokémon Rijon Trilogy, while the Galarian Ponyta is taken from @jilhawking on Twitter
